Description

The central galaxy in 60 million light years distance is sending its light through a foreground molecular cloud of our own Milky Way. Its spiral arms are coloured by the intervening dust and only a few background galaxies are visible. I found no research on NGC 7497, probably because the intervening dust makes a study very difficult. It does make a compelling target for "pretty picture" AP, though.


This is actually my third attempt at this target. The 16h of data from the first one with the RC8 and an ASI183MC contains some error in the calibration data that I can not track down (and I no longer own the camera to regenerate the darks and bias). The RASA data just isn't well enough resolved to add anything substantial.
